Open minded me… Well–no, though
how often I wish it were so, for
I can see the lack, the loss, the tragic end
of the absence of open-mind, and oh,
how ugly, how disastrous, how unkind, as
ever in history, again and again, without, within,
closed to breadth, we suffocate on righteousness.
So, do Thou open my mind, my heart, my soul,
that I may see beauty in all, all surrounding me.
Unclose me now, that I yet may be tender, and free
enough to allow, even to love, what ever may be.
