Forgetting…
perhaps there’s too much to remember,
or perhaps there’s a need or a wish to repress, forget.
But also, perhaps, forgetting is daring to transcend a memory,
allowing it, now reframed and better understood,
to be forgotten.
Something about us, though,
larger than what we perceive of ourselves,
often decides these things.
Forgotten or remembered,
nothing is ever really erased.
Even when the brain itself is eroded,
mind, Mind itself,
more expansive than imaginable,
contains and retains it all,
somehow, somewhere, and
in loving, forgiving, creative
Holy Wholeness.
Or so I believe.
