Strawberry Romaine Salad


1 large head romaine lettuce
1 head Boston lettuce (or fresh spinach)
1 pint strawberries, sliced
1 cup (4 oz.) shredded Monterrey Jack cheese
½ cup chopped toasted walnuts or pecans


This makes a good quantity that you can refrigerate up to a week in a covered jar.

Combine in large jar and shake vigorously:

1 cup vegetable oil
Up to ¾ cups sugar, may be less to taste
½ cup red wine vinegar
2 cloves garlic minced
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon paprika
¼ teaspoon pepper.
