Through story, art, history, and other means, this self-paced seven-lesson course will explore the ancient way of life called Taoism, a way that brings peace of mind and serenity of spirit, even in chaotic times like we are experiencing today.

You will be given information about Taoism, through written, audio, and video means, along with questions and suggestions for contemplation and meditation.  Additionally, you will receive suggestions for other activities that will hopefully deepen the material presented as you make it personal in your own experience.

You may contact and interact with the course director while you are taking any of the course lessons.

Glenda Taylor, the course director, is a life-long student of comparative religion.  She was privileged to work for a time in San Diego with a Taoist teacher from China. Over the years, she has given many lectures and workshops on various aspects of Taoism, the I Ching, the yin and yang, the modern concepts of masculinity and femininity as they relate to Taoism, and how these relate in general to human psychology and culture.

“I hope you enjoy the course, and I look forward to our interactions as you make your way through the lessons.”   Glenda Taylor

“Tao is not a ‘being’ but ‘a way of being.’ It is not a noun but rather a verb. Reality is a process; change is inevitable.  Serenity is found in a balanced alignment with the “Great Tao,” the great way of being that is fluid and dynamic rather than fixed or rigid.”  Glenda Taylor
