Spirit Dog and Wildness: Shortly after I posted the podcast on Wildness (Spirit Dog), Parabola magazine’s summer issue came out, and the whole juicy magazine this time is on the theme of “The Wild.” Great syncronicity and great reading!
Spirit Dog may be my favorite podcast yet. All of us who met him were enchanted by his boundless approach everything. His story shows us the beauty in that wild approach, and also it’s limitations.
From Jim Landers: I am responding to Wild Dog. Thanks for helping me to remember wildness. I feel some sorrow in that I had almost forgotten. The texture of wildness definitely has a call of a distant drummer that I can be too lazy or complacent to hear. Grace is sometimes scary. I appreciate your clarity and courage!!
From Denbie Nash: Excellent podcast on Spirit Dog. Your poem captured for me all Lobo was and truly what he represented in my soul. I’m not quite ready for the total abandon of wildness again tho I’ve loved it in the past and learned much from it. But he’s given me a glimpse of the unadulterated joy of living life to it’s fullest and to which I pray I am slowly but hopefully heading toward again. With renewed vigor for all that was Lobo as viewed from my 70 year old perspective. Denbie Nash
